New Beginnings
This is by no means finished. It’s a reminder of things I’ve done and things I hope to do before I haven’t the time left to do them.
- Find my way back to Europe.
- Take more pictures.
- Create a portfolio of more than 50 published pieces (3 thus far).
- Go on vacation.
- Be able to do a left sided split.
- Have a bonfire on the beach.
- Drive on the Autobahn.
- Go camping.
- Adopt a new hobby and work at it.
- Save more money.
- Learn graffiti art.
- Get back into a yoga class.
- Win something.
- Become a master of something.
- Finish an entire novel… Even if it’s just the first draft.
- Learn and make my own bread.
- Grow a tomato. (It’s harder than it looks for me, apparently.)
- Return to a place I’ve been and make new memories.
- Cook 52 new, homemade recipes in 2012. Document them.
- Read a novel every two weeks: 26.
- Road trip to someplace I’ve never been.
- Become more of a listener; become more attuned to the environment.
- Take long walks after dinner.
- Apply to UvA, Harvard, and Columbia for graduate school. Just because I can and I’ve never been rejected by a school before.
- Own a collection of vintage typewriters.
- Get into better shape: run three times a week for at least 30 minutes; practice yoga four times a week for thirty minutes.
- Limit fast food intake to once a month.
- Learn how to change a tire.
- Go thrifting and antique-shopping over the summer.
- Conquer one of my irrational fears.
- Ride on a train again.
- Buy a large bookcase for my living room.
- Become more forgiving.
- Swim in a lake.
- Shop locally.
- Volunteer somewhere weekly.
- Invest more.
- Make a decent score on the GRE.
- Send out Christmas cards.
- Become more spontaneous.
- Own an El Camino or Ranchero: hot pink with white leather interior.
- Learn how to knit.
- Be more honest about what I want.
- Get a massage.
- Take a plane somewhere.
- Sleep on the beach.
- Do something with the spare bedroom to make it more usable.
- Buy a large iMac.
- House-swap with someone.
Find a pen pal and write them handwritten letters.- Accept more invitations.
- Spend more time with the people I love.
- Give more hugs.
- Rent a very fast car and push it to the limit.
- Plant a flower garden.
- Speak more Spanish as to not forget it.
- Forgive quicker.
- Feel more [openly].
- Stop biting my nails.
- Go sailing.
- Have a collection of prescription glasses.
- Work at a place that I love.
- Learn how to blow glass.
- Eat something prepared by Jamie Oliver.
Get out of credit card debt by the end of 2012.- Learn how to fly a plane.
- Take a train the entire length of the Trans-Siberian Railroad.
